Annapurna Yojana (formerly Lakshmi Bhandar) - Check latest status

Annapurna Yojana (formerly Lakshmi Bhandar) is a women-focused financial assistance scheme introduced by the Government of West Bengal in 2026. The scheme replaced the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar programme and provides eligible women with monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The first phase of payments began in June 2026.

The scheme is intended to provide regular financial support to women and promote their economic independence and socio-economic empowerment. According to the official West Bengal Government, eligible female residents of the state between 25 and 60 years of age can receive ₹3,000 per month, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Annapurna Yojana replaced Lakshmir Bhandar, which had been launched in August 2021 to provide assured monthly income support to women aged 25 - 60 years. Under the earlier scheme, the monthly assistance differed by social category. Annapurna Yojana introduced a uniform ₹3,000 monthly assistance for eligible beneficiaries.

The financial assistance under Annapurna Yojana is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account. The West Bengal Government's official scheme information states that applicants need an EPIC/Voter ID, Aadhaar card and an active mobile number. Applications can be submitted through the designated government offices or through the official online portal.

As of August 2026, the scheme is continuing its phased disbursement. The West Bengal Government has been processing and verifying beneficiaries, with recent reports stating that the third instalment of ₹3,000 was being credited to eligible beneficiaries.

Step 2: Click on "Access Citizen Portal"

Step 3: Select your home district and enter your registered mobile number

Step 4: Fill the Captha properly and click on "Request OTP"

Step 5: Enter the valid OTP and login

You will taken to your registered application page now

Now you can see the latest status of your application

Check if it is "Approved", "Under Inquiry", "Rejected" or "Further Inquiry Needed"

If "Approved" - that means your application has been officially approved by the competent authority and now you will receive your Annapurna Yojana money in your DBT bank account. If you have not received it yet, you will receive it shortly, within a few days.

If "Rejected" - That means your application was checked by a competent authority and the information provided was not enough or the information was found to be false. In such a situation you should take a copy of your application with all the necessary documents of you and your family members and then visit the BDO office.

If "Under Inquiry" - That means some information in your application was found to be not suitable for this scheme. You may be required to fill an enquiry form and submit it to your nearest BDO office. You can get the inquiry form from your BDO office or from the ground-level officers who are enquiring about the respected scheme.

If "Further Inquiry Needed" - This means exactly like the "Under Inquiry" but in this case particularly some information that you provided in your application seems to be disqualifying you from attaining the benefits of this thing. For example you may have filled "3 rooms" or"Own a land (huge)". As it is already announced by the honorable Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister that only the needy and below-poverty-line people or those people who are poor will be allowed to benefit from this scheme.
